~Very Cherry Smoothie

As a child in the land-locked prairies I was smitten
each summer by the little ruby fruit, cherries, that
made their way into grocery stores. I was very
envious of my friend, Jo, who had a cousin who lived
in BC and who visited in the summer with a whole BOX-
full of cherries! Well, now, I live in BC, and we
have planted a cherry tree. Of course, it is still
in its infancy (takes three years I hear)but this
year I gave myself permission to buy larger than
usual quantities of this fresh, yummy, very
expensive fruit. Today's smoothie recipe uses
frozen cherries... you could also use fresh ones.
Just don't forget to take out the pits first!
VERY CHERRY SMOOTHIE
Makes 4 cups; 4 (8-ounce) servings.
2 cups frozen tart cherries
1 ripe banana, peeled
1 cup cherry juice blend (or other juice)
2 oz. NingXia Red
Put frozen cherries, banana and cherry juice blend
in container of electric blender or food processor.
Puree until smooth. Serve immediately. Drink
with an Attitude of Gratitude!
